Fr. Fanourios Pappas was born on May 4, 1984, in the beautiful city of Chania, Crete, where he spent his childhood and completed his education. His deep love for the Church and faith led him to study Theology at the Theological School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he earned his degree in 2006. He continued his studies, completing a Master’s in Liturgics in 2008, and in 2009, he embarked on his PhD studies.
In 2008, Fr. Fanourios was ordained a Deacon by His Eminence Metropolitan Damaskinos of Kydonia and Apokoronos, and in 2011, he was ordained a Presbyter by the same Metropolitan. He began his ministry as the Parish Priest of Panagia Evaggelistria in Chania, faithfully serving the community from 2011 to 2013.
In 2013, Fr. Fanourios brought his calling to Canada, where he served the parishioners of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto for seven years, building lasting relationships with the faithful. Since 2020, he has been serving as the Parish Priest of Metamorphosis Greek Orthodox Church in Toronto, where his warm and compassionate leadership continues to inspire and uplift the community.
